Privacy Policy for ingra

At ingra ("we", "the app"), we value your privacy. This policy explains what data is collected when you use the app and how it is processed.


1. Data Collected

Data Stored on Device & iCloud

The following data is stored on your device and, if iCloud is enabled, automatically synced to your iCloud account via Apple CloudKit:

  • Scan photos: Product label images you capture or select from your gallery
  • Analysis history: Scan results, health scores, and product information
  • Comparison history: Product comparison records
  • Profile information: Your name, profile photo, allergen and dietary preferences

iCloud sync is managed entirely by Apple and governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. You can disable iCloud sync for ingra in your device settings at any time.

Third-Party Services

  • Google Gemini API: Your photos are sent to the Google Gemini API for ingredient analysis. For Google's data processing policy, see: Google AI Terms of Service
  • Google AdMob: Google AdMob is used to display ads in the free version. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data for ad personalization. Details: Google Privacy Policy
  • RevenueCat: Subscriptions and purchases are managed through RevenueCat. RevenueCat processes anonymous user IDs and purchase data. Details: RevenueCat Privacy Policy

2. Ad Tracking and ATT

The app uses Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework for personalized advertising. A notification is shown before requesting tracking permission. If you decline, only non-personalized ads will be shown. You can change this at any time via Settings > Privacy > Tracking.


3. Camera and Photo Access

The app requests camera and photo library access to scan product labels. This access is used solely for analysis purposes. Your photos will not be shared with third parties without your consent.


4. Data Retention

All personal data is stored on your device and, if enabled, in your iCloud account. Images sent to Google Gemini API for analysis are not stored on servers after processing.

You can permanently delete all your scan history, comparisons, and profile information using the Settings > Delete All Data option within the app. If iCloud sync is enabled, data stored in iCloud can be managed through your device's iCloud settings.


5. User Rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right to access: You can request information about what data is collected
  • Right to deletion: You can request deletion of your data (via the app or email)
  • Right to correction: You can request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information
  • Right to object: You can object to the processing of your data

6. Children's Privacy

Our app is not intended for children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.


7. Changes

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Significant changes will be notified within the app.
